Why DiLoreto Elementary and Middle School?
DiLoreto has a diverse and multicultural history that promotes academic learning in both Spanish and English for our learners. We have two programs that run at Diloreto: our Spanish Language Development Program and Dos en Uno, CSDNB’s Dual Language Immersion program in Spanish. The goal of both of these programs is to promote cultural diversity, equity, and multilingualism. Both programs celebrate the idea that knowing a second language is an asset in many ways.
There are TWO Different Language Programs at DiLoreto!
The DiLoreto Elementary and Middle School school-wide lottery and the Dos en Uno Dual Language Program lottery are two separate lotteries. Read below to learn more about each program, eligibility requirements, and the entrance process
*Please note, incoming kindergarten students are eligible for BOTH programs.

1. School Wide Lottery
DiLoreto Elementary and Middle School will launch its annual lottery process for all students entering kindergarten through 8th grade. All eligible students districtwide will be automatically entered into the lottery. This process is new for the 2025-2026 school year. No parent/guardian action will be required. Accepted families will be identified and contacted in April 2026.
Accepted students will be invited to attend DiLoreto Elementary and Middle School and participate in the school’s Spanish Language Development Program. The Spanish Language Development Program provides the day’s instruction in English, with a regular weekly period of Spanish as a World Language class during Academic Arts.
Looking to Apply for DiLoreto Elementary and Middle School?
All eligible students districtwide will be automatically entered into the lottery. Accepted families for incoming Grade 1 through Grade 8 will be identified and contacted via email in April 2026.
Sibling Lottery
For currently enrolled students to be considered as part of the Sibling Lottery, the student must be signed up for the sibling lottery. It is not automatic entry. To enter into the sibling lottery use the forms section of the PowerSchool Parent Portal and select the "DiLoreto Sibling Lottery" form.
The DiLoreto Sibling Lottery form must be completed by March 15th.
For newly registering students, the 2026-2027 Student Registration Form will include the DiLoreto Sibling Lottery question. The 2026-27 Registration Form is located in the enrollment section of the district website.
DiLoreto School-Wide Lottery Key Dates
- March 15, 2026: DiLoreto Gr. Gr. 1-8 School Wide Lottery will be held. All eligible students will be automatically entered. No parent/guardian action is needed.
- April 8, 2026: DiLoreto School Wide Lottery accepted and waitlisted family letters sent with information about a future informational meeting.
- April 13, 2026: Deadline for accepted families. Accepted families MUST accept their seat by the end of the day on April 13th. Waitlisted families will then be contacted about open seats.
- May 1, 2026: DiLoreto Kindergarten Lottery will be held (including sibling lottery) and families will be notified. Families have 5 days to accept their seats.
2. Dos en Uno Kindergarten Dual Language Program
The Dos en Uno Kindergarten Dual Language Program lottery application for the 2026-2027 school year will close on April 1, 2026. This lottery is for incoming Kindergarten students and families who are interested in a full immersion Dos en Uno Spanish program.
The Dos en Uno program provides students with intensive academic instruction in Spanish and English. The goal for these students is to be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking in both languages by being immersed in Spanish language learning starting in Kindergarten and eventually working towards a 50:50 model from Grade 2-Grade 5.
Dos en Uno Dual Language Registration
Interested parents/guardians MUST apply their students for this program. Incoming kindergarten students are eligible to apply through the 2026-27 Registration Form located in the Central Registration section of the website.
Dos en Uno Dual Language Immersion Program Lottery Key Dates
- January/February 2026:The application for Diloreto Dos en Uno K Lottery will be available on Parent Portal
- Thurs. Feb 19, 2026: DOS en UNO K Program Informational session at 9:00 am (daytime session) and Thurs. Feb. 19, 6pm- (evening session) at Diloreto School Auditorium. These are required meetings for families interested in the Dos en Uno Program
- Thurs. March 12, at 6:00pm: Dos en Uno K Program Informational session at Diloreto for families who were unable to attend February sessions.
- April 1, 2026: DiLoreto Dos en Uno Kindergarten Application closes
- Monday, March 2, 2026 - Friday, April 10, 2026: Language assessments for the Kindergarten Dos en Uno applicants will be completed
- Friday, May 7, 2026 Kindergarten Dos en Uno Lottery is held. Dos en Uno Kindergarten Applicants will receive electronic notification and must accept their enrollment no later than Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
