Lottery Information
The DiLoreto Elementary and Middle School school-wide lottery and the Dos en Uno Dual Language Program lottery are both scheduled to take place in early 2025. Read below to learn more about each program, eligibility requirements, and the entrance process.
*Please note, incoming kindergarten students are eligible for BOTH programs.
School Wide Lottery
DiLoreto Elementary and Middle School will launch its annual lottery application process in April 2025 for all students entering kindergarten through 8th grade.
Accepted students will be invited to attend DiLoreto Elementary and Middle School and participate in the school’s Spanish Language Development Program. The Spanish Language Development Program provides the day’s instruction in English, with a regular period of Spanish as a World Language class during Academic Arts.
Registration
All eligible students districtwide will be automatically entered into the regular school-wide lottery. No parent/guardian action will be required. Accepted families will be identified and contacted in April 2025 and may choose to accept or decline at that time.
Sibling Lottery
For currently enrolled students to be considered as part of the Sibling Lottery, the student must be signed up for the sibling lottery. It is not automatic entry. To enter into the sibling lottery use the forms section of the PowerSchool Parent Portal and select the "DiLoreto Sibling Lottery" form.
The DiLoreto Sibling Lottery form must be completed by March 15th.
For newly registering students, the 2025-26 Student Registration Form will include the DiLoreto Sibling Lottery question. The 2025-26 Registration Form is located in the enrollment section of the district website.
Key Dates
- Tuesday, April 1, 2025: DiLoreto School Wide Lottery will be held. All eligible students will be automatically entered. No parent/guardian action is needed.
- Tuesday, April 8th , 2025: DiLoreto School Wide Lottery accepted and waitlisted family letters sent with information about a future informational meeting
- Thursday, April 10th , 2025: DiLoreto School Wide informational meeting.
- Sunday, April 13th, 2025: Deadline for accepted families. Accepted families MUST accept their seat by the end of the day on April 13th. Waitlisted families will then be contacted about open seats.
- Wednesday, May 7, 2025: DiLoreto Kindergarten Lottery will be held (including sibling lottery) and families will be notified. Families have 5 days to accept their seats.
- Friday, May 30, 2025: School-wide Lottery will be completed.
Dos en Uno Lottery
The Dos en Uno Dual Language Program will launch its annual lottery application process this month.
The Dos en Uno program provides students with intensive academic instruction in Spanish and English. The goal for these students is to be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking in both languages by being immersed in Spanish language learning starting in Kindergarten and eventually working towards a 50:50 model from Grade 2-Grade 5.
Registration
Interested parents/guardians MUST apply their students for this program. Incoming kindergarten students are eligible to apply through the 2025-26 Registration Form located in the Central Registration section of the website.
Key Dates
- February 2025:The application for Diloreto Dos en Uno K Lottery will be available on Parent Portal
- Wednesday Feb 26, 2025 at 6pm: virtual informational session one for the parents/guardians of Kindergarten Dos en Uno applicants.
- Wednesday March 5, 2025 at 12pm: virtual Informational session two for the parents/guardians of Kindergarten Dos en Uno applicants
- April 1, 2025: DiLoreto Dos en Uno Kindergarten Application closes
- April 1, 2025: Dos en Uno Early Enrollment Requests must be completed (if child's birthday is September 2, 2025 or later)
- April 23, 2025: Dos en Uno applicants must be assessed for early enrollment (Parents must call Roosevelt Early Learning Center to schedule an appointment for this date).
- Monday, March 3, 2025 - Friday, April 11, 2025: Language assessments for the Kindergarten Dos en Uno applicants
- Thursday, May 1, 2025: Kindergarten Dos en Uno Lottery is held. Dos en Uno Kindergarten Applicants will receive electronic notification and must accept their enrollment no later than Wednesday, May 6, 2025.
